This week marks the World Green Building Week 2024 and reflecting on some of our key engagements in the Built environment, there are quite a few that we are proud to have embarked on. And we are still focusing heavily on the wider ecosystem.
So what are green buildings? Green buildings are designed to minimise energy consumption, reduce waste, and create healthier indoor environments. New builds are encouraged to embody a net zero carbon strategy and be a ‘green building’. However, there is an emphasis on ‘greening’ existing buildings as it is predicted that 85% of current buildings will still be in use by 2050.
In the past few years, we have been active in this space with our customers and partners such as:
- With a major energy company, a global property group and a renowned university we ran a Climathon challenge to identify innovative solutions to transform a high-intensity carbon plant/site to be Net Zero. This collaboration was developed as part of the wider COP 28 side events. The output was a highly sophisticated architectural concept incorporating strategic engineering requirements for further development.
- Developed high-level strategic & partnership opportunities for a major facilities management company, where the Net Zero challenges are transformed into potential new offerings to their current customers as well as new market penetration. There was a deep focus on embedding retrofit and circularity requirements.
- Focused workshops for companies and solution providers in the Built Environment to trigger innovation response to Net Zero challenges in the industry
At NovAzure, we are continuing the stride to decarbonise the Built sector, by working closely with key players and emerging solution providers in this space. Reach out to us and join us on this!
